Weds 6.3. at 6pm at Ulrika (see below for directions)

Screening of Debt for Climate webinar:
    Anti-Patriarchal Struggle Against Foreign Debt

    5.30 pm Doors open
    6 pm Screening starts

For #InternationalWomensDay Debt For Climate and Friends of the Earth Finland organises a screening event of a webinar that will highlight how the colonial financial debt trap disproportionately affects women and children.

Debt is patriarchal violence. This does not affect everyone equally, but through its high interest rates, it is designed to extract value from historically oppressed bodies and territories, whether women, sexual dissidence, childhoods, racialized bodies, as well as our territories rich in diversity of life and resources.

In this webinar we aim to raise awareness, within the feminist and climate movements, about the connection between debt and women, to generate synergies, strengthen our actions and demand fair measures that are anti-patriarchal.

Speakers in the webinar: Luci Cavallero @NiUnaMenos_,  Iolanda Fresnillo @Eurodad, Agnès Adélaïde Metougou – PFIAD & @CADTM_int Africa &  Shereen Talaat @MenaFem

Language: English and translation to Spanish and French

The webinar can be followed remotely: tinyurl.com/IWD-D4C-2024

Ke 6.3. 18:00 Ulrikassa (ks. saapumisohjeet alta)

    Debt for Climate -webinaarin katsomo:
    Antipatriarkaalinen taistelu ulkomaista velkaa vastaan

    17:30 Ovet aukeaa
    18:00 Webinaari alkaa

#InternationalWomensDay

Velka on patriarkaalista väkivaltaa.

Keskustelijat webinaarissa: J: Luci Cavallero @NiUnaMenos_, Iolanda Fresnillo @Eurodad, Agnès Adélaïde Metougou – PFIAD & @CADTM_int Africa & Shereen Talaat @MenaFem.

  • Friends of the Earth Helsinki

Friends of the Earth Helsinki <3 Keru Community Fridge! Mon Jan 29

Our society has a massive food waste issue: large amounts of edible food go to waste while many people struggle to find enough affordable food to eat. One grassroots solution to this problem are community fridges, which make leftover food accessible in an organized way. The association Keru has been running a community fridge in Kallio for more than five years now, and Friends of the Helsinki invited Keru to give a presentation of how it all works and why you should know about it, too.

What: Presentation of the Keru community fridge and discussion on food waste activism in general
When: Monday the 29th of January at 6.15 P.M.
Where: Classroom 8 of Kalliolan Setlementtitalo, Sturenkatu 11, second floor (= ground floor + 1)

There’s no need to sign up, but if you have any questions beforehand, please write to helsinki [at] maanystavat.fi. The space is mentioned to be ”accessible” on its website; please ask us if you need to know more details.

    Welcome!
