UPM-Kymmene has production plants mainly in Finland and Europe, but also in the USA and Australia. UPM-Kymmene and Shell have over 30 000 hectares of eucalyptus plantations. Around the world the company has sales offices (e.g. in Asia) and joint ventures (e.g. Raflatac self-adhesive laminate factory in Malaysia). UPM-Kymmene owns 14,7 % of forest industry machinery manufacturer Metso (former Valmet Rauma). The fine paper division consists of two units: Kymi Paper Oy in Kuusankoski, Finland (capacity 700 000 t/a) and Nordland Papier AG in Dörpen, Germany (1 000 000 t/a). They produce uncoated (e.g. for copying, books) and coated (e.g. for four-colour printing) fine paper made of short-fibre pulp. Later, for the APRIL-alliance, they formed a new company, UPM-Kymmene Fine Paper. |
